a holiday gift guide for the glutenless person in your life.

Hey y'all! Here's the rundown:  Shop local when you can. Please. Support our local economy. They need it extra bad. But when you must give your dough to the beastly Amazon behemoth, please consider using our affiliate links below to support GFNOLA's operating costs.

Most of these products I'm presenting, I have the exact listed version (and I make notes where I don't), but they're all products I have experience with. Most have to do with the kitchen or health by nature of what GFNOLA is about, but I threw a few other cool things that I love in here.

The Gluten Free Gourmet Bakes Bread Cookbook

This cookbook is incredibly in-depth. It quite literally taught me how to bake. Before Bette Hagman's direction from the grave (she's been deceased for over ten years), I was a box-mix only kind of gal. Now she's got me making my own flour blends, learning how to proof the dough... all kinds of crazy! My favorite recipes I've tried are the Sorghum Bread, which I slice up and freeze for sandwiches and toast, and Sarah's Bagels, which is the most delicious thing I have ever personally cooked.

The African and Middle Eastern Cookbook

I found this cookbook at a thrift store, and I've been cooking my way through it for nearly 6 months. It has diverse recipes, most of which are naturally GF or easily subbed. I am also dairy free, so it helps that basically none of them call for cheese. I do find most of it to be not spicy enough for our Louisiana palate, but whoooo baby, they are not bland. They are flavorful as all get out -- just mix in some hot stuff.

Comfook 4 Pack Stainless Steel Stemless Insulated Wine Tumblers Cup with Lids (Includes Straws & Brushes)

Full disclosure: I do not own this identical set. I received my Yeti-style wine tumblers as a gift a few years back, but I did like this pink and the fact that they include straws. Truthfully, I rarely use these for wine. Sometimes, I use mine for cocktails when I don't want the glass to sweat on the table. Other times, for a small coffee that doesn't require my 32-oz tumbler. Still other times, cider or bourbon (sans lid) with a single ice cube finds its way into these cups. The metal against the lips is not as nice as glass, but it's sure as heck better than plastic when you're in a place you can't bring glass.

Maars Skinny Can Cooler for Hard Seltzer | Stainless Steel 12oz Koozy Sleeve

Another full disclosure: I don't actually own this product because I don't sip on drinks long enough for them to get warm. However, Hubby is a drink sipper, so I got him a shorter one for his Coca Cola. I keep considering buying one of these for myself every Christmas, as I do love me some Truly, but they just don't sit around long enough. If your person is a sipper, not a gulper, this could be a great option.

33 Pieces Reusable BPA-free Plastic Straws (9 in. drinking straws with brushes & case)

I love these straws sooooooooooooooooooo much. My only wish is that I could get these exact straws in a cocktail straw length. These are great for nearly any use, including smoothies, because they are wider than the metal straws (which I also love). The included brush makes it super easy to clean.

Cucisina Citrus Press - Commercial Grade Aluminum (Red)

We have this in the copper color, which apparently they don't sell anymore?? But we have the same brand one. Gets the job done when making lemonade, smoothies, cocktails, or cooking with citrus juice. It's a big tough to juice oranges in this, but I've got a workaround where I cut them into quarters. Mainly meant for grocery store sized lemons and limes.

OXO Good Grips Box Grater

I was kind of annoyed when Hubby was so insistent on getting this. I am dairy free, so a cheese grater seemed unexciting, but he told me we would save money if he was able to grate block cheese, so we got it. Wow, y'all. This has so many uses. I most often find myself grating ginger or zucchini for my recipes, but really anything you need to grate. It stays put because of the rubber on the bottom. What can I say? It's grate.

Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer

In my house, we call this item a "zoodler," so I guess the cat's out of the bag on what we use this most for -- making zucchini noodles. Y'all. So delicious. But if you like making pretty spirally things for your pretty spirally dishes, this does the trick. Fits nicely in even my skinniest kitchen cabinet (the obnoxiously small one where obviously a lazy Susan was SUPPOSED to be). Save yourself a ton of money because pre-spiralized zucchini costs a fortune.

Magic Bullet Blender 11 Piece Set

This baby is legit. I make knockoff Jazz Fest Mango Freezes. I make healthy smoothies. I made so many milkshakes and protein shakes before I went dairy free. The cleanup is extremely easy, which is why I love it. I own a hundreds-plus dollar Ninja blender that I use about twice a year, whereas this blender gets used several times a month.

Wusthof 2-Piece Mincing Knife & Cutting Board Set

If you purchase one single thing on this list (besides the beloved cookbooks), this should be the item. I used to hate cooking (still kinda do, honestly) because of stupid tasks like mincing. It's so difficult, and clumsy me often hurts myself. This takes ten minutes worth of ineffective mincing and makes it 45 seconds of effective mincing. Check out the prep bowls pictured below where I minced a serrano pepper, 2 oz of ginger, and 8 garlic cloves in about 2 minutes.

Ozeri ZK14-S Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale

Didn't know how much I would love a food scale until I got one. This is probably the kitchen appliance I will be buried with. My only complaints it the little rubber feet fall off kind of easy, so be delicate with the bottom.

Aluminum Pans Mini Loaf Pans (30 Pack) Disposable

When you bake for your friends, this is the only serving size they should get. Easy to use that little bit of leftover dough into one of these puppies and bring a smile to someone's face.

We are low-key obsessed with glass storage in my house. It makes all my leftovers look so shiny and new.

Oral-B Pro 3000 3D White Electric Toothbrush

Did you know (or experience) that celiac rots your teeth? It seems to get better once you go gluten free, but having so many almost-root-canals has left me mentally scarred. This toothbrush, when partnered with Power Floss, makes me feel like I just got out of the dentist's chair. So fresh and so clean, clean.

Scree 3-in-1 Electronic Acupuncture/TENS Pen

Yes, this is the weirdest item on the list, but I love it. I totally saw it on a Facebook ad and scanned Amazon for one with good reviews. Once you get past the mental anguish that it is in fact delivering tiny electrical pulses into your muscles, this tool is amazing. It causes your muscles to pulse/contract and loosen repeatedly, and when you remove the pen from contact with your muscles, the muscles feel like Jello. REALLY helps with my gluten- or dairy-induced TMJ problems.
